About Us
We are a small hobby breeder of AKC Labrador Retrievers located in Central Washington State, in the beautiful Yakima Valley. We live on 2+ acres in a stone house that was built in 1908 and surrounded by orchards.
My love of dogs started before I can even remember! I grew up with German Shepherds and Collies. My parents had a few litters of Shepherds. At age 11, I went to my first dog show to watch some of the puppies in the ring, and I was hooked! For my 15th birthday I was given a Collie puppy. I had fun obedience training her, but never made it to shows. Shortly after my husband and I were married, we bought our first Labrador and we've had then ever since. While our children were young, we also had Collies. I was able to show one of the Collies and one of the Labs to their CDs. We added a Cocker to our family in 2008. He introduced me to Rally and dog therapy.
In 2012 I was able to purchase our foundation Labrador from Sunnydaze Labradors in Bellingham, WA. That girl is our sweet Bridget. Since that time, I have stepped foot into the conformation ring as well as continuing to show in obedience and Rally, and therapy.
Our dogs are part of family and live in the house and travel with us. They enjoy living on 2+ acres, and get lots of free exercise. My husband hikes and does some hunting with them. They enjoy swimming and boating any chance they can! Our goal here at Stonehouse is to breed Labradors that meet breed standard, healthy and also cherished family members for years. The pups are raised in our home, well socialized, and introduced to many different experiences. All pups are vaccinated, and vet checked before going to their new homes. We only breed about 1 litter a year. All of our girls and the studs have their health clearances.
